Welcome to the
Galveston Model Railroad Club & Museum
On September 12, 2008, Hurricane Ike caused considerable damage to the club. The main HO scale layout is open to visitors every Sunday, while work continues elsewhere in the building.
Please visit our Hurricane Ike page for updates on the reconstruction.
We are also looking for new members to join us on Sundays. If you're a model railroader without a layout of your own, or are interested in the hobby, we have a number of ongoing projects that could use an extra set of hands. There's no cost, just your time. Stop by and visit us for more details.
The Galveston Model Railroad Club and Museum is located on beautiful Galveston Island near the Historic Strand District. Our physical address is 314 27th Street, (intersection of Market and 27th). We are four blocks from The Galveston Railroad Museum at the end of the Strand. Our phone number is 409-762-2982. The club models HO Scale and G Gauge. The entire second floor of the building is the setting for our HO Scale exhibit. The lower floor is where the G Gauge exhibit is located. We even have a Thomas the Tank Engine wooden layout for the little ones to enjoy while the big kids view the facility.
The club is open every Sunday from 12noon until 4pm. The members of the club invite you come down to Galveston to see our layouts and watch the railroads serving the Port of Galveston (BNSF, UP and Galveston Railroad L.P.) Galveston offers great accommodations, recreation, shopping and fine restaurants. A Gulf Coast Town filled with history, fun, and excitement for the entire family.
Hope to see you soon!
